CAMO Crowns 1st Ever Official State Champions!
California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Organization, Inc. Crowns First Ever Official State Champions;
Southern California Dominates Northern California 7-1 in State Amateur MMA Championships
LOS ANGELES, December 7, 2010 – The California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Organization, Inc. (“CAMO”) crowned official State Champions in eight (8) weight classes in a star studded, action packed event promoted by All Star MMA at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night, December 4, 2010. The Championship matches featured the best fighters from Northern California vs. the top from Southern California. “These guys represent the best fighters our state has to offer,” states JT Steele, President of CAMO. “They fought their way through the single elimination tournament that began in September in 8 different regions across the state and beat all competitors along the way. They all have very bright futures ahead of them.” CAMO Board of Advisor Bas Rutten was also on hand to the present the belts to the newly crowned champions.

135 lbs. Championship – So. Cal Champion German Baltazar (Big John McCarthy’s Ultimate Training Academy) remains undefeated as he won a unanimous decision over Nor Cal Champion Jordan Felix (El Nino Training Center).
145 lbs. Championship – So Cal Champion John Chacon (Millenia MMA) moves to 8-1 as he defeated Nor Cal Champion Richard Parra (The Pit).
155 lbs. Championship – So Cal Champion Paul Blancaflor (Team Spiritwolf) now 6-0 submitted Alan Francis Perez (Team Tribull) at 1:49 of the final round.
170 lbs. Championship – So Cal Champion Bill Cooper (Kings MMA, Paragon Jiu Jitsu) won by 1st round submission (his 3rd 1st round submission in a row) against Jared Hess (Main Street Kickboxing).
185 lbs. Championship – Nor Cal Champion Keith Cutrone (SMAC MMA) remains undefeated at 5-0 earning a first round submission against Chris David Herrera (Team Quest).
205 lbs. Championship – So Cal Champion Manuel Murillo (Team Quest) won by TKO in round 3 against Nor Cal Champion Angelo Henry (Ernie Reyes West Coast).
230 lbs. Championship – So Cal Champion Moses Murrietta (Adrenaline MMA) earned a TKO victory at 1:02 of round 3 against Nor Cal Champion Robert Johnson (Coaching Kids MMA Club).
265 lbs. Championship – Jim Johnson (Big John McCarthy’s Ultimate Training Academy) won the title when doctor stopped the match against Nor Cal Champion Justin Willis (East Palo Alto Gladiator Fight Team) at the end of the first round.
