I hale from Richmond, VA where my parents currently reside. I was medically retired from US Marine Corps after twelve years of service. During my service, I attended the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) Instructors course in Quantico, VA. As a MCMAP instructor, I instructed over 100+ Marines from Tan to Black belt. As well as, several instructor courses. I hold 1st degree Black belt in Tae Kwon Do (1994), a Black belt in Silkisondan Karate (2012), ikyu in Aikido (2004), ikyu in Judo (2004), and Purple Belt in BJJ (2009). Unfortunately, I had a 5 year hiatus due to a service injury. I have been able to get back in the gym for past two years and continue my training and studies. Upon arriving in California, I was able to add to my skill set in training Jeet Kune Do (JKD) and the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) particularly the Inosanto Blend and Pekiti-Tirisa Kali. I currently train under Professor Michio Grubbs at Excel Jiu Jutsu as a Coach. I also train with Michael Janich in his Martial Blade Concepts distance learning program and attending his annual seminars, as well as Pekiti-Tirisa Kali under Jeremy Heath. My current goal is to obtain instructor status in both of these Arts as well as achieving the famous unobtainable BJJ Black belt.
