SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & ACCREDITATIONS 1970, Detroit Michigan – Began wrestling in Junior High School and by 1972 I was studying the Martial Art of Tang Suto. In 1973 I began my studies with Master Willie Adams in Isshinryu along with Master Bob White and Master Martin Gatlin achieving my 1st Degree Black Belt in Issinryu in 1978. I studied many other styles after that and on March 1, 1995 achieved my 6th Degree Black Belt Lloyd Russett of Ryukyuan-American Isshinryu Karate Association. 1996 I began training in Kihon, a Mixed Martial Art; I achieved my Black Belt in Kihon and began teaching and training fighters for the cage. Soon after I started my own fight team, calling it Team Kihon. In 1997 I was named the head of California Kihon. In 2005, Team Kihon was ranked 14th in the world according to www.Sherdog.com. During that time I negotiated placements on Ultimate Fighters TUFF 2 for Eli Joslin and found a fighter replacement with Jason “the live wire” Von Flue for TUFF 2 when Josh Burkman was injured and could not finish the show. Also in 2005 I trained and managed Bobby Hoffman to fight superstar Eric Pele in Las Vegas for the King of the Cage Super Heavyweight Title. This fight was featured on the TV Reality show Inked. In 2005 and 2006 I worked with King of the Cage to produce the only 2 Mixed Martial Arts events ever to be held at the Chukchansi Casino in Coarsegold CA. I had 5 fighters in the second event, all of which won their fights that night. I also secured all the sponsorships for these events both in and out of the cage and also was responsible for selling 850 of the 1000 tickets myself. Chukchansi has not held another event due to remodeling of the casino. That year I also initiated the process of attaining my Promoters License with the California State Athletic Commission and opened an LLC. One year later PureCombat LLC was born and my partners from Michigan, Rodney & Terri Partridge and my fiancé Shelly Matlock went on to produce 12 professional MMA events; one at Camp Pendleton Marine Base that was all sponsorship driven to be made free for the 3,000 troops who attended, 1 Pro/Am event at the Travis AFB, Fairfield Ca. and one that was called Champions for Children in September 2010 which was a charity event for Valley Children’s Hospital. As the President and Matchmaker of PureCombat, I feel I have a unique perspective having been involved in all the many aspects of being a fighter, trainer, manager and the business of producing a major professional MMA event. By doing this I’ve been involved with negotiating 100’s of single contracts and multiple fight contracts with quality fighters with a lineage from Pride, K-1, WEC, Strikeforce and the UFC. Some of these fighters have also gone on to fight for the UFC such as Tony Ferguson my current Welterweight Champion, Emanuel Newton who went on to fight for the MFC in Canada and Anthony Ruiz who has now fought for Strikeforce and is our current Middleweight Champion . I have done some paid consulting with Eagle Mountain Casino regarding their fight promotion Warriors Cage. I am involved with a TV Reality Show called America’s Next Top Fighter which is currently at Lion’s Gate Studio’s awaiting funding. Also, I am consulting with Eileen Craft http://www.iwatchmoviesonlinefree.com/people/0185696/ on her 20 million dollar feature film on Royce Gracie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royce_Gracie about his life and family. I will be finding fighters and other players for the movie and will also be consulting for accuracies within the film. I do have an idea for another MMA Reality show I want to produce call MMA Boot Camp that could be produced locally and has a Mixed Martial Arts as well as a military theme to it. I have cornered for over 100 fights and held my corner man license in Nevada in 2005 and in California in 2006. I have cornered with people such as Dan Henderson, Jason Von Flue and Emmanuel Newton to name a few. I have also judged over 20 fights throughout the last 15 years and refereed over 100 Karate Tournaments and 5 main events. From 1977 to 2009, I had consistently either owned or have been co-owner in a Karate school. In 2009 I sold my 24 hr. fitness gym and Martial Arts Training Center in Mariposa California. I opened Body Works Fitness Center in 1996 and it ran successfully for 13 years and still does to this day under new ownership. With this resume, I’ve attached a few letters of endorsements that lend credence to my abilities to manage any of your Pro sporting events, your future training center and your Amateur Mixed Martial Arts projects. In all these years of being involved in the sport of MMA, I’ve worked with numerous promoters, fighters, managers, training centers and sponsors. I achieved much insight into the business and have gained and maintained many relationships with those who have also continued to evolve and grow in the sport. I am interested in working with you on any and all projects that you see me as qualified and capable and hope to be an asset to your team. We can produce any level of event but is restricted only by the budget that is set. I am in communications with HDNet and they are the type of company that can cover all events including concerts and other entertainment. CURRENTLY I have been working for King of the Cage as the Matchmaker for the North West Division since 2010 with an average of 12 events per year. In 2015 I matched 14 events and helped my associates on many others within the company. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES & VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE Through my gym, Body Works Fitness Center, I had supported Walk for Life and The American Cancer Society and volunteered at Mariposa Jr. High School on Career Days. I also have given free Self Defense Courses to the local women’s shelter at the Mariposa County Victim Witness Program. In 2005-2006 I was the Branch Manager for EquiPrime Mortgage Group Inc. in Merced California. I participated in fund raisers for community outreach groups such as Boys & Girls Club and Toys for Tots. Due to the increased crime in Merced, specifically against Realtors, I gave free Self Defense Courses to local realtors in the area.
